Conover, Hickory and Newton Fixed Route Bus Service

System Map and Timetables

Description: Fixed Route Service is offered in the cities of Conover, Hickory, and Newton. Passengers may access the bus at designated bus stops along the route. No reservation is required. The service is offered Monday through Friday from 5:45 a.m.—6:24 p.m. and Saturday from 8:45 a.m.—5:20 p.m. Call 828-465-7634 for more information or download the bus schedule at mygreenway.org.

Hwy 70 Intercity Connector

Description: The route runs twice a day from Glen Alpine to Hickory in both directions from 6:20 am to 4:45 pm. The route starts at the One North Square building in Morganton and travels to the town and cities along the Hwy 70 Corridor from Glen Alpine to Hickory. Lenoir Rhyne University Route

Decription:  The route runs every hour from 10:00 a.m.—6:00 p.m. The route starts at Lenoir Rhyne University (LR University) at the top of the hour (:00) and follows the route arriving at the Hickory Walmart at the half hour (:30). The bus leaves the Hickory Walmart at the half hour (:30) and follows the route back to Lenoir Rhyne University by the top of the hour (:00).

This route connects to the blue route and the green route at LR University and the red route at the Hickory Walmart and all routes at the Greenway Transit Center.

Greenway Public Transportation fares and the pass:  Single ride, $1.25; Reduced Fare, $0.60; all day pass $3.00; 7 day pass $12.00; 30 day pass $45.00; children 5 and under ride free.

Stony Point Flex Route

Description: Flex Route service is offered in Taylorsville, Hiddenite, and Stony Point Monday through Friday twice a day. A morning route leaves the Taylorsville Walmart heading east at 9:15 am and serves the community of Hiddenite with a stop at the Dollar General at 9:50 am and two stops in Stony Point. The stops in Stony Point are located at the Stony Point Family Medicine at 10:00 and New Salem Presbyterian Church at 10:30. The bus then returns to the Taylorsville Walmart by 11:00 am.

The afternoon route leaves the Taylorsville Walmart heading east at 12:00 pm and serves the community of Hiddenite with a stop at the Dollar General at 12:30 am and two stops in Stony Point. The stops in Stony Point are located at the New Salem Presbyterian Church at 12:45 pm and Stony Point Family Medicine at 1:15 pm. The bus then returns to the Taylorsville Walmart by 1:45 pm.

The bus will also "Flex" of the route to pick up scheduled passengers who are within 3/4 mile of the route. "Flex" trips must be scheduled in advance by noon the business day before the trip by calling 828-464-9444. The rider chooses the time and place along the fixed route to board and exit the bus.  Ride once, twice, or all day. Deviated same day service requests are not available. The trip requests for both destination and return shall be scheduled a the time of the request. However, same day service is available at designated bus stops.

Taylorsville Bus Service (Flex Route)

How to Ride:  The Flex route bus service in Taylorsville NC offers both fixed route service and demand response service.

The Taylorsville Bus Service is offered every half hour on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the hours of 10:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Riders can board and exit the bus at any of the 22 designated bus stops.  The bus will serve the community starting on Hwy 16 N. at the Walmart Garden Center, along Hwy 16S. to Main Avenue Dr. and Main Avenue.  The bus will follow the fixed route time points providing access to merchants, friends and relatives, restaurants, and community services.  Each stop is serviced once per half hour providing riders multiple opportunities to ride.

The bus will also "Flex" of the route to pick up scheduled passengers who are within 3/4 mile of the route.
